Congratulations on making your decision for Christ! We know that often times after you make a decision like this, you may ask yourself “so what now?” We want to help you answer that question and figure out what the best next step for you is!

Knowing the right next steps after committing your life to Christ is crucial because it provides direction to the decision you just made. When you’re clear about your next steps, you can make intentional decisions that will ultimately lead you closer to God’s purpose and calling for your life. Moreover, having a clear plan helps you to align your actions with your ultimate goal of a life with Christ Jesus.

Here at Impact Church, we believe that there are two things that are crucial to helping you continue your journey: Water Baptism and Finding a Good Church Home. We have also created a short, seven-day booklet called the “Fresh Start Book” to give you some practical day-to-day tips as you begin this new journey.

Water baptism holds profound significance in Christianity as an outward expression of an inward decision. It symbolizes the believer's identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, representing the washing away of sin and the beginning of a new life in Christ. For many Christian denominations, baptism is not just a symbolic act but a sacrament—a visible sign of God’s grace. Overall, water baptism is an act of obedience to Jesus’ command in the Great Commission, where He instructed His followers to baptize disciples in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Through baptism, Christians publicly declare their faith, receive spiritual cleansing, and are united with the global body of believers.

Here at Impact Church, water baptism takes place on the 1st Sunday of every month, immediately following all three services.

Finding a good church home is essential for Christians as it provides a supportive community where they can grow spiritually, receive guidance, and experience fellowship with other believers. A church home offers a space to regularly engage in worship, be taught Scripture, and partake in sacraments, all of which are vital for deepening one’s faith. It also serves as a place where Christians can receive pastoral care, encouragement, and accountability, helping them navigate life’s challenges and stay grounded in their beliefs.

Being part of a church community allows believers to serve others, use their spiritual gifts, and participate in missions and outreach, fulfilling their role in the body of Christ. Moreover, a good church home fosters a sense of belonging and connection, which is important for spiritual and emotional well-being, as it reminds Christians that they are part of a larger, loving family in the faith.

In the subsequent classes, you will discover how the unique details of your personality are directly tied to your purpose. You will also discover what it means to be a leader at Impact and get the chance pick a team to make a difference with. Finally you will meet the leaders of the team that you choose and see what “a day in the life” of that team is like.
